what is id0l jam?
Id0l Jam is a FREE full day event presented by Metam0re for the New England Idol Cosplay Community (and beyond!) You may remember our previous events, Summer Id0l Jam and Autumn Id0l Jam - since most people referred to these events as "Id0l Jam" we figured we'd do the same from now on! We will likely be keeping Id0l Jam as our fall event for the foreseeable future (with plans to have separate Spring and Summer events 😉)Id0l Jam 2025 will be on Sunday November 2 from 11:00am until 8:00pm and will held at Arts at the Armory in Somerville, MA.Id0l Jam consists of multiple performance events that showcase the talents of our local community, the biggest of which is dances in our Id0l Sh0wcases. In addition to our Id0l Sh0wcase, we will also have Id0l Singer, a C0splay C0ntest, Id0l Trivia, an Id0l Market, and m0re!Who is Metam0re?Metam0re is a Vocaloid Cosplay and Dance cover duo, consisting of best friends Nat and Birdie. Both of us have a huge love of crafting, dancing, performing, and event planning! We love making our own cosplays for our performances, which often consist of our favorite Vocaloids, Kagamine Rin and Len.Metam0re recently won Best Advanced Performance at Another Anime Con's 2023 Masquerade for our Kagamine Mash Up (performance can be found on our YouTube and Instagram!) and Best Master’s Performance at PortConMaine 2024 for our performance of the Giga Remix of 1, 2 Fanclub!Without a doubt, our favorite thing about doing Metam0re is making connections and new friends through the Idol Community ♡ Everyone in it has such an incredible passion for everything they do! We created Id0l Jam to create a safe, accessible, and welcoming space to all in the New England Idol Community! Our goal is to keep Id0l Jam free so it is accessible as possible to everyone - because everyone deserves to feel welcomed in this community and get their chance to shine on stage!As always, your support means the world to us ♡

Our main events! As we have done in the past, we will be holding two Sh0wcases, one at the beginning of the event and another at the end of the event.Applications will be open from 07/12/25-09/13/25. All applicants will receive an email within the time frame of 09/14/25-09/21/25 with a decision as to whether they are accepted, waitlisted, or denied.

c0splay c0ntest
Sign-ups will be in-person only from 11:00 AM - 3:30 PM (or until full). The signup sheet will be located at Metam0re’s merch/info table.The C0splay C0ntest will be held at 4:30 PMAnyone of any age wearing a cosplay from an idol franchise (i.e. Love Live, Project Sekai, Vocaloid, etc.) or an idol character from a non-idol franchise (Uta from One Piece, Yumemi from Kakegurui) can participate. Both purchased and handmade costumes are welcome (build books are not necessary as we do not have time for pre-judging). All handmade costumes must note what % is handmade.Both solo and group participants are welcome!All participants must at the main stage area ready to go at 4:30. Metam0re member Birdie will be MC’ing the contest while Nat will assist with lining up participants and ushering them onto the stage. When your name is called, each participant will have 30 seconds ~ 1 minute onstage to embody their character, whether that be with a pose or a couple dance moves. We can’t accommodate a full performance. Once all participants have had a turn onstage, the judges will deliberate while Nat runs Idol Trivia. When trivia is done, the judges will come back onstage to announce the winners. All participants will then be welcomed back onstage for a group photo.There are 7 awards: Best in Show, Best Craftsmanship, Best Stage Presentation, and 1 judge’s choice award per judge to be given to a participant who did not receive one of the top 3 awards. The top 3 awards will include a gift bag of idol merch graciously donated by some of our Id0l Market artists, but all awards will include prize ribbons handmade by Birdie! (Please note that purchased costumes are not eligible for Best Craftsmanship or Best in Show. All costumes are eligible for judges’ awards. No participant will be given more than 1 award. Wayra is a cosplayer with over 10 years of experience in the competitive craftsmanship scene. Focused on technique spanning across CAD patterning to surface embellishments, she has the most fun translating 2d designs to textural 3d renditions. Recognized both nationally and internationally for her award-winning craftsmanship in the competitive cosplay circuit, she's excited to attend Id0l Jam and see your idol creations! In her off-time, she enjoys creating oshikatsu-centic content and sharing her very normal love for cozmez.

Kat is a MA based cosplayer/idol. They have been sewing since childhood but retaught themselves in 2020 when they first got into cosplay. They are also one half of the idol duo Katz*Maru! Some of their proudest sewing achievements are winning Best Novice Craftsman at Portcon 2023 as Infinity Miku, winning Best Novice Craftsman at Popcult 2025 as Hagane Miku, and Best in Craftsmanship at Portcon 2024 as Shadow the Hedgehog. They are so excited to be joining as a judge at the Id0l Jam C0splay C0ntest!

Xan Lee is a cosplayer from Connecticut with 12 years of cosplay and sewing under their belt. From bridal gowns to avant-garde costumes, they've worked professionally in sewing in many settings. Though they've only come into the idol scene in the past few years, they've been overwhelmed by the love and support from the community, and are excited to help spread that positivity! With an eye for detail and a soft spot for personal touches, they're excited to see what Id0l Jam has to show for cosplays this year~.

Q: What is you policy on props?
A: Since we do not have the means for a prop check station at our events, our rule is always that your prop should break before it can hurt someone. We also do not allow any type of prop guns at our events. It does not matter how fake it looks or how clearly marked as a prop the gun is - we simply cannot take the time to inspect them all which is why we must say no to any/all prop guns. Metam0re and Arts at the Armory Staff reserve the right to ask any attendee to either place their prop in their car or otherwise remove it from the event for any reason so that the safety of all attendees is prioritized.Q: Can I apply to the Id0l Sh0wcase with multiple Idol groups?
A: Because we are expecting a high volume of applicants, we are asking individuals to only apply with one idol group. While we understand that many idols are in multiple idol groups, our goal is get as many individuals a chance to perform and be on stage as possible!Q: Can I apply to both the Id0l Sh0wcase and the Id0l Singer?
A: You can, but you will likely be selected for one event or the other, not both. Again, this is so that we can get as many individuals as possible a chance to perform on stage!Q: Can I still participate in the Id0l Sh0wcase/Singer if I'm a C0splay C0ntest Judge?
A: Yes! These events do not have any overlap with the C0splay C0ntest.

Id0l Jam has been, and will continue to be, free to all in our C0mmunity. Your donations help us keep it that way ♡ If you loved our previous Id0l Jam events and want to see m0re events from us, please consider donating if you're able to ♡While the tables fees from vendors will cover a large part of the venue and facility fees, Metam0re is still paying hundreds of dollars to keep this event free rather than charge admission. We will release more details on finances as we iron out some details, but please check out our Ko-Fi linked below to donate!Our Ko-Fi also has our shop - all proceeds from merch sales also go directly into funding Id0l Jam and future events so we can keep them low cost or even free!♡ THANK Y0U ♡
